After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Saw something like this on FB and had to laugh as it brought back some fond memories.....
Not quite the same ending but close...

I once did a bit of Golden Gloves and my dad did some work with Sandy Flucker and Johnny Famechon in the late 60"s or there abouts...
So along with other skill sets, as boys from the bush the odd fight was not uncommon.. My brother was a State GG Champ but the only way he beat me was by using 3 of dads pool cues :o :o Yes it hurt, but I got him back ::)
Any way back on topic...
A few years ago at a birthday party my son and others from the local Gym were sparing in the back yard with some gloves..
My son called me out and asked if I could show them some tricks.. Yep, there are plenty of dirty tricks that can and are used. Some with devastating results ;D
Any way, where was I ???
Yea.... Not once but twice with my son and a rather large mate of my son's, who was the so called better man at the local gym and I should have known wanted to show off..
And it goes like this....
"Ok Son, so you punch me, I block you yea?"
"yea alright"
*whack* *block*
" Ok see how that worked"
"Now its your turn""
"Ohk so I punch you, you block me yea?"
"yea alright"
*whack* *Thunk*
"oh shit ya nose ya nose is all bleeding like a gusher "
Now his mate steps UP after my son had some ribbing about copping it from the OLD man.
"Ok so I punch you, you block me yea?"
"yea alright"
*I Punch * *he blocks* *I drop guard* *he lets a counter punch go* *WTF- block* *duck / side step/ uppercut/ connect* *Thunk*
"Oh SHIT he's hit the deck and almost out cold"
Wife is screaming like a banshee, the guys are all cracking up and asking me to do it again, my son is having a go about me; beating up his mates and I am waiting for the cops to take me away for child abuse...
NOTE: They were using slim line UFC gloves and I was using 12oz gloves.....
We still have a laugh about it all, and only the second time I have ever made my son's nose bleed ;D :D :o :o
