Bezzera Domus Galatea - steam only from group head

I'll try and be accurate as to what has happened. Machine was turned on, and I waited until it had come up to pressure. This it did with no sign of any potential issue. There was plenty of water in the reservoir as I had just taken it out to clean out and refill. It had taken a little jiggling to place back in and had 'grabbed' a little before fitting into place.  I moved the handle upwards to run some water through the head as I usually do, and there was a small amount of water followed by steam only.

A quick check of both steam and hot water wands gave me 'blustery' steam and boiling spluttering water from the two wands respectively.  I turned the machine off and left it for half an hour before checking again, and got a similar result. It has sbeen left off since.

I won't be able to give Barazi a call until Tuesday, so any thoughts on the cause of this would be most appreciated if it is something minor (or otherwise).

Air in the pump lines I think In conjunction with low water feed in the heat exchanger circuit as this circuit feeds the group head  KK

Ok, is there anything I can do to fix it, or is it a job for the experts.

Make sure the water tank is seated correctly and not sucking in air from the O ring  Bleed the lines while its still cold by flushing lots But I will call Barazi in the morning and ask KK

Cheers mate, I'll probably be back later on  this evening. It felt like the tank was seated correctly, it was flush with the rim. I may have time first thing this morning to try the flushing when I get in from work.

I rang Barazi and Chris said exactly what I said He feels that the HX is not full and air in the circuit Take out the tank check the O ring Re-seat correctly and flush until water runs as normal You can even put in the blind filter and back flush a couple of times KK

Thanks KK, then found that when turning on I got green light but no orange.  The orange would flicker briefly when turning the switch on. Tried today and got both lights on, but no water flushing through. Sounded like something was trying to pump water through, then it basically turned itself off. Is all good, I will give Barazi a call tomorrow and book it in for a fix and a service as well, I'll have to make do with bringing the aeropress home from work every morning in the meantime. Plus I do still have an old plastic filter cone sitting in the cupboard as well. I took the screen off to give it a clean and found that my cleaning routine wasn't as effective as I thought it was so there is a win already.
