After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Pod machine at aldi

UNMUNM

Saw that aldi have a pod machine on special next week at $79. Pods come in packs of 16.for something like $5. Dont know if pods are nespresso compatible.
20 sec heat up time!

Might get one, given aldi's generous return policy.

  • Or you could buy a jar of their quality instant coffee too.  Seriously though, would it really be any good?
  • I have purchased one of these machines this morning... They were flying off the shelves when I was there at 9am... I have been thinking about buying a coffee machine for a while and this offer seemed too good to pass up. After having recently bought the Aldi road bike
  • Well blow me down Nice job & ingenuity UF-It I have a suggestion on the pod seal Use a tight O-ring on the overlapping plastic instead of a complete wrap Saves plastic and the O-ring is reusable KK
  • Now as a former user of Nespresso, I'm not as harsh on them as others here. But I can't understand why you would subject yourself to the unholy mess-making kind of fiddly hell that using refillable pods entails. To my mind it has to be the worst of both worlds - the long winded process of making coffee without the payoff of a godshot afterwards. But then, if it's how you roll, who am I to disagree!! ;)

Under $100 and refilled with fresh roasted fresh ground it may be passable.  I'd certainly pass!
  • BTW, pretty sure this is a spam listing. A similarly named user post something on CS, but it was removed as it was nearly identical to another user's post. Also with 1 post count, also nearly identical to this one. So obviously Aldi's paying their shills now, or, more likely, given their user names, they're just SEO wankers who are looking for signature back likes.
