After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Firefox is history.

Well for me it is anyway.
Over time I've found Firefox becoming less user friendly and subject to being infiltrated by unwanted tool bars such as Alot and Babylon search, these things can be a real pain to get rid of.
Video's on sites such as the Australian and SMH were often reluctant to play.
So this morning I downloaded Google Chrome, seems to be faster than FF, stable and clean, installation and importing of bookmarks from FF was quick and easy.
Early days yet, guess time will tell. :)

  • I went back to FitreFox from a months trial of Chrome I found that chrome does similar things The worst thing is that It prevented my computer from shutting down quickly, due in part  because something was always on & running in the back ground e.g. - turn off the computer will always have the box that comes up that the program is not responding This even after collapsing/closing Chrome and after a 30 min trying to shut the computer down the same things happen KK
  • I'm on OSX, so we generally don't wind up with a whole heap of unwanted toolbars, but it does happen from time to time. As a developer, I use all browsers, but for speed and featureset, I've been on Chrome for a while now. It really chugs however if I have a lot of windows open and there's any flash on a tab at all. There's also an extension I haven't nailed down yet which is sucking down huge system resources and occasionally causing brief freezes. But Firefox is just too slow and unwieldy to now use on a day-to-day basis.
  • Firefox's memory leakage 4-500Mb for a web browser is BS. I use them all as well for testing and am considering using Chrome for my main one.

Cant help there, don't have games installed. :-|
  • I got rid of Firefox too.  Damn thing was running over 300mb and not doing anything tasking. I install chrome a while ago but never used it.  It's great, fast and easy to use with a clean interface.  Love the easy translations too!!!  Sweet!
  • FF seems to have degraded significantly over the past few months.
