My wife went a bought one these things a while back. Apparently the only legal device where you can plug a 15amp device into a 10 amp GPO. I was very dubious of it. But it seems to work.

We currently use it at a events place where there is only 10A. It manages to supply our two group Promac (one element switched off 3000W normally 4500W), Mazzer Major and a 400W water pump.
It has only tripped a couple of times and that was when someone jumped on to help and didn't grind on demand. With the Mazzer running for a minute the Ampfibian would trip.
I do warm up the machine prior to leaving. The place is only 30 mins drive. Once there I turn on the water pump, then the machine with no elements. Then turn on the elements and don't turn on anything else until the pressure stat has cycled a couple of times.
Today I had a bit more of a play. The outside ambient temperature was 28 degrees. I was told by the manufacturer that the circuit breaker is not a solid state device, it is a bi-metal. The metal heats up on current flow. Too much and it trips. So temperature matters.
I plugged it in to the machine set at 3000W and left the steam open. An hour went by and it never tripped....mmmm....not even when the machine's pump kicked in to refill the boiler.
The cables were nice and warm...
I switched for about an hour, then turned on and switched the machine to 4500W. It tripped in 44secs.
Then I chucked the Ambfibian in the fridge for 30 mins. Took it out of the fridge, plugged it back in and it tripped in 58 secs.
Small issue are that the circuit breaker lid is hard to get open and the 15amp clamp is too small. Most 15amp leads don't fit and the lid won't shut.
But....I don't know.... something really erks me about this thing.
1. Could make some people over confident.
2. If it trips you can just reset.
3. The device is effected by temperature. It could be outside in the cold but plugged into the house wiring that is in insulated walls.
4. What else is plugged into the circuit? User could plug this into one socket and a kettle into the other.
5. The larger earth pin on 15amp plugs is there for not just so you can't plug them in. I have been told that the idea is if active shorts to the earthed frame the pin is large enough to carry the current away. 15amp devices, like commercial coffee machines can have nice large cables that can provide lots and lots of current. Too small earth pin and some voltage maybe on the frame to give you a nice little shock. The length of 10amp wiring on this thing is very short.
