After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Rich, choc/caramel blends - what's your recipe for success?

edited January 1970 in Roasted Beans or Blends
I'm not a fan of super-bright grassy beans or blends and tend to prefer rich, strong-flavoured espresso with choc/caramel notes (notes notes notes notes).

I've had some good success with a Brazil/PNG/CR/MM blend, but I'd like to hear about SOs and two/three bean blends that also get that kind of result.

What's your go-to blend?

Both suggestions are great But roast depth and length to second crack can also make a difference Experiment a little KK

On my experiments I have found this method to produce a more chocolate or caramel profile even on single origins Once reaching rolling first crack a 4 min to 6 min time frame is best to second crack I also like to go up to 30 seconds into second crack KK

Definitely agree with this. This is what I try to do on all my roasts to achieve the chocamel goodness..
