How much extraction pressure can be effected by beans
Hello
My first post.
I just purchased a new machine and think that I have it mastered although I cannot get a 'proper' pressure during extraction (the machine has a pressure gauge) using coffee beans purchased at a supermarket (very well known brand) even though I have the grind set to the finest and I am tamping as hard as I can and according to the instructions I am using a correct 'dose' (the machine also comes with what is called a 'razor' for ensuring the dose is correct).
I have been told that for best results only use freshly roasted beans and within 3 weeks of the roasted date and not prepackaged beans from a supermarket.
BUT will that solve my problem of not getting sufficient pressure during extraction?
My daughter has the same machine and using the same brand of pre packaged beans and says that she gets good (high) pressure.
What could the problem be for me?
