After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Using stale grounds.

I actually collected the debris over a week or so in the waste tray of my Mazzer Mini, no special treatment, just left em lay where they were till I had enough, when I had sufficient I pulled a shot, you know it wasn't all that bad, I've certainly had much worse that has cost me $3.50 a cup.
Certainly make ya wonder about the processes employed by some commercial establishments. ;)

  • I use the Old grinds left in the grinder and sweepings off the bench to run a dummy shot through the machine once I've back flushed - even so these grinds are prob less than five mins old and I've been known to make myself a coffee from time to time from sweepings and as you say I've had much worse coffee elsewhere...

We need to encourage a few more intrepid posters from the other side Mate, if we could just get a dozen or so regulars the site would gain a bit of momentum. ;)
  • Too right mate! I think that just the process of regular posting will build momentum

Sprinkle on the garden and around teh veggies... Helps to keep the snails off   :o
Not sure about that AM, have been dumping used grounds onto front garden for about 6 years, still plenty of snails but the coffee has certainly helped improve the soil. ;)

Yeah we're part of the initiative - it was stared by steve Agi - it was called ground zero, but now it has a new name which escapes me Grinds can be collected once a week  or fortnightly and are recycled into compost - folks can personal message me if they're interested in more details...
  • are coffee grounds definitely ok for the garden. Does anyone know for sure?
