Airhead Syndrome

Its alarming the amount off cafes employing airheads and the quality off coffee they are producing. One owner clearly stated they only employ women out front and men in the kitchen. Pity either sex if they are good at the other end

When I have coffee in the morning I dont really care about breast sizes, Im more happy with a quality coffee. I blame franchiese for starting this with their robot systems employing mouldable plastic staff and their plastic fake greetings which annoy rather than please.

While this practise is not exactly uncommon i find it strange to hear that that particular owner openly admits it (hello equal opportunity commision).  It's easy to blame franchises for this, but ultimately franchises make decisions based soley on how they can make more money.  And while most if not all of the people who will reply to this thread will no doubt value coffee over breasts (otherwise we'd all be members of some more lude forums online) it's ultimately the market at large that has dictated this trend

Does anyone know the numbers in regards to male vs female coffee drinkers? In Brisbane it seems like a fairly even ratio maybe favouring the guys, but as bucksome baristas are becoming more the norm obviously companys think that men are the main coffee buyers. When im getting my morning fix, im more concerned how hot the coffee is, not the person behind the counter.

perhaps the idea is that on top of the established coffee drinkers, there will be extra (wo)men in for the 'coffee'..

I find that alot of males who become baristas actually do so because they enjoy the challenges, also find that alot of the girls are just doing it for a bit of cash with their study.

i find that a lot of males who become baristi do so b/c a lot of chicks work in hospitality, and they meet more on a daily basis.  Also its /c of the pulling power...

yeah i agree i just posted the above to be provocative to see what kind of response i'd get i've actually got two doctors in training and a law student working for me, and if some clown tried hitting on them while they were working they'd prob cop what for!!

I have had the (Pleasure??) of ordering coffee from a Airport cafe, and the girls out front obviously were gorgeous and had the whole package thing going until she opened her mouth to take my order, and then proceeded to make a revolting latte. Personality of a river rock, obviously didnt enjoy being there and it showed. But i guess as far as the employer was concerned...She looked good.

looks are no good unless you can back it up with quality in the cup... i've had great airport coffee both on the sunshine coast (thanks pioneer coffee), and at wellington airport in NZ cheers, pat

Suburban coffees are the worst things one can experience. Killing my tastebuds at the moment.
