I am sick of Bonsoy zealots. The other day I had a couple in that left when they discovered we had no Bonsoy. I find this frustratingly ridicules. I use Natures Soy. Its certified organic, locally produced and gluten free(which Bonsoy is none of those). And in my opinion, it tastes as good if not better.

I have to tend to agree.  Nature's soy (along with just about every other brand of soy that I'm aware of - other than bonsoy) should be called soy and sunflower oil milk (as that's exactly what the inngredients contain).  Both bonsoy and nature's soy both use organic soya beans.  Bonsoy is non GM, nature's soy may very well be too, but they certainly don't advertise so, so I doubt it. Bonsoy is stupidly expensive, granted.  But it's quality, at least in Australia, is un-equaled. Maybe nature's soy textures better than bonsoy, i really don't know.  I do know that bonsoy does texture great though. Despite the fact that if in my cafe I used Natures soy i'd be able to charge less and make a profit selling soy vs using bonsoy where I charge $1, lose money of every soy sold, and still get crap for charging so much; I still choose to use natural soy (ie bonsoy), with no added oil, and not "nature's" soy (with added oil). That's my choice, and I respect your right to make yours. And as for masking the flavour of coffee - that's why I drink mine straight

I think these things should already be built into your costings to a certain degree - I'll be charging $3.4 for a regular coffee and an extra 50c for Bonsoy which still leaves enough margin to make me happy.  Personally I don't mind the taste of Nature's Soy - but I think its an acquired taste - whereas Bonsoy seems to have a lot more subtlety to it... less 'offensive' in many ways, and, its the industry standard for soy milk, I mean you wouldn't serve Paul's or Pura milk in your cafe, would you?

Bonsoy has only organic soy beans, and is not a certified organic product. I'm not sure you can have a certified organic product (natures soy) that "is" GM. I'll have to check. Having sunflower oil doesn't lessen a product. Natures soy actually has less ingredients than Bonsoy as a point. My point really is that it's a false organic perception of Bonsoy, and sheep mentality, that makes this product     A. Too f^#k'n $$$$.     B. So popular to the point of zeal

yeah but I put it to the ultimate test today served a Bonsoy coffee to a tradesman without mentioning anything about it being soy and he loved the coffee: try that s*** with Pure Harvest and see what happens!

Well I've had a lot of coverts to the nature's soy, even a few zealots. And quite frankly if you cant make a good coffee or texture your milk well, then no test is worth the mention. Again, Bonsoy is a fad, I like it too, but it is only a small part of the coffee journey. I say with all confidence, that its more down to the maker than the milk. Nature's soy "IS" GM free by the way, and its stated on the package. Oh, and to reiterate; Bonsoy is NOT organic, only the soy beans are. It is false advertising to claim that you are serving an organic product if you are using Bonsoy. And there are no counter arguments to this point. On the topic of ingredients(sunflower oil - psaig); How do you make scrambled eggs? And sadly your story didn't really make a point there pat. But thats ok, I Still think your coffee tastes f%&K'n excellent. Well done on your blend Breu! By the way, pat uses nature's soy to my knowledge???

With butter, preferably french - though I don't see what that has to do with coffee?  I couldn't think of anything worse than getting a tablespoon of oil, heating it to 50-60degrees and then adding that to my latte - that sounds disgusting to me!

Oh and what is that at the bottom of your espresso, is that oil ?!?!!! Seaweed doesn't sound that enticing either, or maltodextrose for that matter (barley malt). And all that sugar, Mmmm, Mmm. Do you know what would happen if you extracted the fat out of the milk in regular cows milk then heated it to 60 degrees? 1 guess!!! Anyway, Bonsoy is NOT Organic, it just tastes good and people are branded. This is my point.

The sugar isn't from sugar cane, as far as natural is concerned. OK, but NS has less ingredients, and is 100% certified organic. Mainly its that people get so fixated on this product. As much as we are all aware that the cow milk we use is of major importance. You don't hear many Cow milk drinkers saying, oh no not PURA, or PAULS. they just drink it and enjoy the coffee flavour. I'm not saying people that drink soy are mindless zealots, I'm saying people who violently appose anything but the mighty B. Are just taking the soy thing a little too far. I guess, if you want bonsoy that badly, carry a litre of it in your bag. I'll happily charge you for a regular latte. Juat don't stamp your foot and walk out because we don't have the exact product that you want. Try enjoying the coffee. You never know, You might just like it

I've made my own soy milk at home before with nothing added except some sea water or lemon juice as a catalyst and you know what it tastes crap - only a purest or someone really hungover could you it The reason I use Bonsoy at my work is because it tastes good and my customers ask for it P

And I support that, But I'm not willing to pay the insane price to stock it. Not until a reasonable price reduction occurs anyway! It has dropped in price at coles by the way. $3.30. So take a look at your suppliers prices. I'm gonna let go of this topic in saying. I really like Bonsoy too. It's not cost effective, its getting harder to stock, and the main point that I have always wanted to make was in the post I made before this one. And that I'm trying to move toward an organic product as much as I can.                       Bonsoy-on my friends

I find I can detect Bonsoy no matter what someone convinces me otherwise. Superior taste buds perhaps. Don't like any soy to be honest.

well then not only is my opposition to the redicules price of bonsoy valid. but it screws with your body. Hopefully this will smash the bonsoy fixation. Which may help the australian soy market expand.   Go Pureharvest - Natures Soy. And when it comes back on the market, I emplore all owners to refuse to pay a higher price for the big B. Help create a reasonable price for this overrated product, Don't give in to your customers begging till you get it at the price you agree to.

Quality will always fetch a higher price which the public will usually happily meet - If anything I would say that conventional milk products are massively overpriced Personally I would rather drink boutique organic and or biodynamic milk from non-stresses cows any day!

I definately agree on the cow milk thing. But the thing for sure with cow milk, is that the processing of quality organic or biodynamic milk is an undeniably more expensive process. I want to understand why the mighty B is as expensive as it is. If there is no justification for it. don't pay the price. Better flavour is not a reasonable justification for a higher price, especially when there is no lack in abundance of this product. Unless you want to buy the special release, thyroid destroyer in every cup vintage.

Although I'm not so sure you could say that, organic or biodynamic milking cows are less stressed. Unless of course you know specifically the practices of your milk producer. They don't get the hormones. But they are still tricked into constantly producing milk. The only one I can think of that, kind of don't use this practice, is Paris Creek Daries. I'm sure there are others though.
