After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Starbucks in Australia

edited January 1970 in Have your say
Yesterday's Australian reports that Starbucks in Australia lost only$4.58 million last year, compared with a $56.40m loss in the previous financial year.

They now have 23 stores in Australia, after closing 64 stores last year. The company said it "now believes that it is well positioned for future growth, and will support the remaining 23 Australian stores," so there you go.

Wonder if they will look to expand the same way as they seem to in the US. The newswires report that Burger King is about to be offering Starbucks in their outlets - now that's premium positioning!

  • not really sure why they bother in Australia, to be honest. We have such a strong espresso culture here that i can't ever see an average chain like S/chucks ever doing that well dR
