Hi Everyone
Just wondering if anyone can let me know of the esimated life of a commercial coffee machine. I currently use a la pavoni and doing about 12 kgs of coffee a day. It is serviced regularly but I think the machine may be on its way out.
Thanks

  • The way I look at it is that there are various components that make up a machine and the majority can be replaced so depending on what is "on the way out" it may or may not  be better to sell the machine and get a new one depending on the costs. If you are doing 12kg per day I would keep the machine turned over every 2-3 years or so to avoid costly breakdowns that come with worn machines. Also keeps the cafe looking new and up to date.
  • I used to go through the same sort of volume at my last cafe and we wen't through a number of machines as the build quality of the boiler especially takes a hammering  when you are putting out this many coffees I had an expobar G10 multiple boiler machine which started off making great coffee but clearly wasn't performing so well 12 month later I recommend splitting the workload up between several machines, likewise have a couple of grinders on high rotation to spread the flow / and to keep them from running hot Cheers, ACg
  • Thanks for the advice guys! Was thinking about replacing it with 2 x 2group machines. Cheers.
