After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Lets talk about the weather.

Crikey, we've had a couple of ball bustin thunder storms along with torrential rain go through our area (Mid Nth SA) today, the cockys that have their crops in will be laughing all the way to the bank, them that ain't reapt yet will be crying tears of blood. :'(

  • Mate we have had constant rain periods here in Brisbane that even the ducks would have lost the oil feather protection So waterlogged ducks instead of water off a ducks back  ::) Lets hope the rain falls in the Murray Darling area to bring life back to the area KK

We're getting great flows into the Coorong and lower lakes area of SA, great to see, the water will certainly do more good than harm, ya gotta feel for those adversely affected by it, but then I guess that's the nature of the country we live in. ;) PS, got the steam wand sorted, thanks for the tip. ;D Still waiting for the carby for my Tiger. :'(
  • Already starting to see birds doing there thing on a massive scale and with the weather the water will be around for a while yet. All the destruction of crops must have a silver lining somewhere. Brett
  • Weather reports on TV today are warning of more rain to come What that means is more floods and for country folk more stock & crop losses KK

Most of the country folk in rural SA are laughing all the way to the bank. I understand it's a different story in the eastern states.
  • Where-abouts are you in SA Dry bean? We had a couple of huge thunderstorms in Adelaide (city) today - wonder if they were the same ones you had, but just moved across? Almost like Qld - had to open up a couple of stops on the grinder!

In the mid North, Moonta area Lars, yep they were the same fronts, you could see them moving across from the west on the weather radar, looks like we have another approaching right now http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR642.loop.shtml#skip

  • well its beautiful and cool and raining in melbourne - perfect weather for roasting but my KKTO has slipped a cog in the gears for the agitator shaft so I'm temporally offline :( But a quick chat with Koffee Kosmo and I should be up and running in a day or two - also the perfect time to upgrade to the twin agitator arm and the silicon tubing for added insulation!

Yes that is a very simple gear fix under warranty Pat The main gear is modified and done in this way 1) Removal of main gear from motor housing, then separate gear from square drive hub 2) Cleaned to remove oil/grease & lightly sanded 3) Sprayed with Loctite 7649 primer & cleaner and left to dry 4) Then I use one of the strongest bonders available Loctite 609 This is a very strong & special bonder for cylindrical items Loctite say it requires a blow torch to separate 5) Plus - balance the main alloy square drive hub (part of the main gear assembly) I have custom made a special gig to balance the square drive alloy hub (part of the main gear assembly) All current motors have now been modified to strengthen the operation of the main gear The 2 enhancements (silicone tube to seal the joints and the twin agitator blade) to the design will improve the already great design KK
