After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
I remember from my drip filter days that the unbleached papers were better than the bleached and the Swiss-gold filter was better again IMHO! I imagine like UMN that much of this was also in my head and also was an opinion driven by price.
Well my OH has had 2 coffees so far from the aeropress and he thinks it's ok, second one was at a lower temp and he thought it was better. He said that there is no chocolate or dark taste to but that it's still ok, he drinks flat whites or cappuccinos.
http://worldaeropresschampionship.wordpress.com/recipes/ Only comment from a quick glance - the first recipe "Jeff's method" refers to '2/4ths of the rest of the water'. In my world that would be about half. Yes I know I am picky but things like that just irritate me - why not say 378/756ths? Second recipe appeals to my desire for simplicity (although it is missing some important information to ensure consistency). Anyroad, hopefully crema aeropress users will enjoy trying a couple of winning recipes.
I've been considering one of these for ages. What sort of beans are you guys using? Are they roasted for Filter or Espresso?
experiment with BOTH .. totally depends on your taste preference. .. just adjust your brew method .. Espresso roasts i brew shorter, whereas Filter Roasts .. I brew loooonger !!!!! but .. the better the BEANS you use initially ... the easier it is to get an enjoyable cup. In fact I have not adjusted my grind setting on my Kyocera CM50-CF (equivalent to the HARIO Skerton) for over 2 years! I just adjust the other parameters (usually on the fly) If you want to research what methods I've tried .. look up au_d2 at the other site: the Kyocera hand grinder thread!

Well I'm sticking with Alex... is that just his competition face....brave judge indeed it was who drew the short straw and had to deliver the news to Alex that he may not have finished in first place! :stir
I don't have one. I usually try to find some out of the way coffee house. When I feel lazy, there is a small coffee shop down the street and I generally prefer that..
