After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Training again.

A few days ago after 13 years of having an espresso machine in the house SWMBO asked if I could show her how to use the Galatea  :o so after a short discussion she is standing at my side pen and note book in hand, I run through the process step by step then it's her turn, slow and steady but no major drama, biggest problem getting a level tamp, couple of minutes explaining and we have that problem sorted.
A few minutes later she has made herself a very respectable long black and has continued to do so each morning and a couple of times a day since, even varying the dose as what I make for her is (sometimes a little strong) her words.
I guess the next step will be steaming milk.
The point I am making here is if there is a desire to learn the battle is 3/4 over. ;)

  • That's it in a nutshell as I mentioned in another thread, willingness to listen and learn makes a HUGE difference. Even a very blonde former Nescafe drinking employee of mine has shown an interest in having a go and I have had her making a few for me and the staff during the quiet times. But in your case I reckon you just wanted to sit back and be able to submit your order as payment for training services  ;D
