After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Social Gatherings

edited January 1970 in Social
Hi,

A few people are gathering for a coffee and a good old chat at Pioneer Roastary, Yandina at 10-30ish on Saturday 30/4.  Some from CS will be there but I thought it would be nice to extend the invite to any interested Crema members.  You are more than welcome.

PM me if your coming and and I'll keep an eye out for you.

Also on another note it would be nice to have somewhere to organise/discuss social gatherings (maybe this thread would be fine).  I've always enjoyed getting out and discussing things face to face, and sharing experiences and I'm sure others enjoy it too.

  • I agree am.  Anyone who's interested in coffee is welcome. I'm trying to drag my neighbor along.  He's upgraded his auto to a manual sunbeam.  He's getting more into coffee because of it.

..But most weekends are spent going south to visit my son, until he can get weekend release.
    I beg your pardon?

...thanks for extending the invitation Lacehim and with respect to your suggestion, am looking at new boards at the moment and absolutely, social gatherings is one of the one's I'm looking at. Others are: alternate brewing methods [eg Siphon] grinders may open another thread for this question, but in the meantime, comments/suggestions please... A
  • A suggestion in relation to a 'grinder' board, is maybe to split the 'machine/technical' into different sub boards, not too many though. I'm all in favour of having a board for social gatherings, it would further enhance the social side of this uber-friendly forum  :).
  • We could combine the classified and baristas wanted into one major section, then just split it inside.  Then we can create a Crema Social Butterfly Section.
  • Social gathering went well.  Just myself and three others, one was a pv lusso owner which I admit dominated the conversation.  Still good to chat about everything coffee and any excuse for a coffee at pioneer.
