After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Coffee related but not coffee - err

edited January 1970 in Espresso Machines
Well, got to the usual coffee stop and saw a pile of crap out teh back..

Head roaster had run over it with the forklift...

Apparently, ever since the quality from coffee from one batista has been less that up to standard.

I can not resist and ask....  Will not repeat what was said, but in an effort to see better coffee for all, I have offered to fix.

Yep... Trashed but I laughed while putting it in my car and laughed even more when I got it home...

Worst thing is that people actually use these things.....

Sorry the pic is not clear but the fork lift did a bit of damage and crunched the electronics and the casing... Thus I have some mucking about to do...

  • Thats right up askthecoffeeguy's alley Electric bikes Hope its fixable (for the sake of good coffee of course) KK
  • Wow you're so good at fixing things !  How fast does this sort of thing go ?  Or does that depend on how many coffees and muffins the rider has had  ??? I can't imagine one of those things being ridden on around Sydney - will probably get flattened in no time *cringe*. I think you should hide it under napkin  ;D
  • Good work AM The electric bike market in Aus is fraught with difficulty mainly due to unscrupulous sellers and naive buyers who don't do their homework before they buy And there is a world of difference between the low spec mini putt-putts that won't even pull you up the slightest incline, and those such as mine which will cruise quite comfortably at 35km/pr - and then some As a viable alternative to petrol consumption the higher spec'd models require much less energy to run, are not as weather dependent as their non powered compatriots (cycling fast in the rain is a lot more fun if you get to your destination quicker), and nine times out of ten I beat the traffic to work in the morning on my beast by riding on the dedicated cycle path I for one think we should be applauding forms of transportation which are not fossil fuel dependant, and with the pump price of petrol being what it is I'm laughing all the way to the bank!
  • I looked into this a few years ago. The good ones are just too expensive in Oz. $2k+ But for less than $500 you could add a hub motor and a lithium battery + controller to a normal bike and had a speedy bike which you could pedal if you wish to. I've seen the small petrol engine convertions and theyre extremely noisy, besides, ain't as cool as an electric bike.

Not long ago we talked in detail about this subject - http://www.bestcafes.com.au/forum/off-topic/pushbike-riders-and-persuing-a-coffee-along-the-way/msg13650/#msg13650 KK
