Brisbane - The Coffee Laboratory - A possible good By catch up.

Hi all

As  some members may know and or attended, we had a little gathering at Troys only recently.

Links can be found in the Brisbane Meet and Great posts on another forum....

Well, Troy has decided to continue to scratch that itch of his and embark on a new adventure with family etc and is bound for places out side of Australia....

I for one, will miss him; his passion and unique style, his love of interesting and weird plants (  that massive flower) and of course his collection of old and interesting coffee stuff....

Note: As troy and myself are not members I have been unable to access teh moves and pics from that last meet.  So if some one can host or send to me  OR even hand delver to Troy, that would be excellent.

I will be catching up with Troy on the weekend, and if others are interested; then it may be possibly to have a small catch up with others B4 he hands over to the new owners. (See Barista Wanted Post)

So if Brisbane Crema members are up for it...  Post here.  Should people have access to other interested persons in Brisbane and or places close by, that might be interested.  Feel free to let them know and see if they might be interested.

If we have a few.... Then I am sure a small catch up should be possible; be it in a short time frame.  I will then confirm with Troy as to when is the best for him and his family....

If not, then feel free to make an effort to drop in and say Hi & Good By.

AM - I've got the video. I show it to people every now and then for OH & S purposes  ;D I continue to be impressed by Troy's escape from the fire breathing roaster! If I can upload it somewhere let me know. Matt

I have the video as well, its saved on my computer Troy also has that video on disc, he told me when I delivered a sample of roasted beans from that mixed bag to him And I am up for another small meet up KK

It will be sad to see him go.  I really enjoyed the last gathering there.  It's just a nice relaxing cafe, plenty to look at, great coffee and Troy was a great host. Is he concentrating on the farm AM? I would be up for a drive down, but it really depends on when.  I'm sure you local guys and gals will jump at the chance. Will this gathering be open to members of other forums?  Plenty would be interested, but haven't made it here yet.

Lets hope the old stuff doesn't get flogged off.  Fair bit of history there, and it really gives the place a feel.  But if someone goes in that doesn't like coffee, they might just want to flog it off It's a pity you didn't buy it!  Full time employ for AMD, and AMT, with plenty fun for you playing with all the toys! I would have popped in more, but M-F parking is a nightmare and with 2 kids to drag around it's just not convenient.  The Di Bella drive thru is tops!

I am glad for his new adventurer but sad to see him leave I rely enjoyed that meet a great atmosphere and lots look at.. UPDATE TO ALL.... KK in particular. Lots going on for me up here..  Very busy week and the next couple are just as full; Family and Mates sniffing Nitro etc. I will be off to Catch up with Troy at about 1:00 to 1:30 TO DAY should things remain stable....  I will pass on my best wishes FROM ALL of those that have attended the last gathering and or might have dropped in to his establishment at some stage....  I will give him a KISS from Coffee2Di4  ::) The rest of you can just be happy with a hand shake. Any thoughts about a social gathering?  Would be good to catch up, swap bits and bobs and do a show and tell of AM's handles, oh and have a coffee too!

I'm pretty well out until next year at this stage seeing as I have to travel 150km to Brisbane - Wedding planning takes a big toll - But if any meetings are organised, I'll always *try* if I can.

New owners ? Have to run it past them first However I will be visiting that area and dropping in the later part of next week for a green bean swap KK

Doesn't have go be at coffee lab.  Anywhere.  I would host but I do realise I'm out in the sticks for some (am is always telling me anyway) Just would be good to get together.

Which way are you "in the sticks"? I would consider myself to be "in the sticks" for anyone from Brisbane  :D

Northern sunshine coast.  Near Noosa.  Lovely place but it does lack a coffee social scene.  Some great coffee places though.  I think you've been to a few already richardm. I even offered Woodfired pizza and still no one took the bait last time it does take 2 hours to get here from the cbd of brissy though.

Ah, right forgot about you being up that way. I think I'll be taking a trip up there sometime in the next 6 weeks for a weekend (to be confirmed) to visit the inlaws.
