Paul Basett Coffee

Tasmania really only has a small number of good coffee places. Some are just rubbish and serve weak milky coffee which is a joke. Anyone who is serious about a career in coffee should get out of Tasmania while they can. Get into the real world.

taz if it were me i would be giggling with glee at the prospect of such a market! i would rather have my cafe in an area with hardly any real competition than be surrounded by it. look. if you want to make fantastic coffee that reflects your own tastes then go to a local roaster. if you want to make ok coffee with the padding of a brand name (mind you no brand name inspires trust in me as much as a sign stating that the cafe uses a local roasters product) then go for a brand name. there is definitely a theme to the advice on this thread and its basically this: TASTE THEM give paul Basett's blend a go then compare it with a local roaster, talk to that roaster and tell them what u want see if they can offer it. i would be a bit hesitant to try the paul Basett blend as the last thing i bought that was indorsed (and apparently designed) by him blew up several times on my kitchen bench.

Hi All, Well I don't think there is anything special about Paul Basett at all. His blend is nothing to call home about and if he really put's 100% into developing his name, why then are there some 13 pages in this forum relating to the problems of his endorsed machines, which he developed through Sunbeam. They are only good for sinkers. RUBBISH Anyone tried YAHAVA coffee beans from Margaret River? Very nice. Hawko :o

I've never tried Yahava - but I just checked out their good looking website. Good to see they stock fairtrade coffee. Looks like they've got a very funky mobile van too. Good first impressions

Hey, Yes Yahava Koffee Works has a funky site, good fresh product. can order online and delivered to my doorstep lunchtime on the second day. Good service and they always come up with good quality and sometimes hard to get beans. Try the SPECIALTY ESTATE, very nicely rounded. Hawko
