After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Grinder information

edited January 1970 in Grinders
G'day all,
following on from this thread from AM http://www.bestcafes.com.au/forum/index.php?topic=1502.0, I thought it would be a good idea if people could post up the dimensions of their grinder hopper lids and if applicable, doser lids.
This could be a great resource for the tinkerers amongst us, especially if you're looking to modify a hopper and need to know if a pre made lid will fit on your mod.
Useful info could include inner diameter (ID) of the lid and thickness of the wall, so here goes.

Brand: Macap.
Model: M7D (although I'm sure this lid fits all of the Macap conicals).
Hopper lid ID 229mm.
Side wall: 2.1mm

All the best,
Steve

  • Sorry to reply to my own post  :-[. I thought of another bit of info that would be useful, whether your hopper/doser lid is an innie or an outie  ;). The lip of the Macap lids fit over the outside of the hopper and doser, whereas the Rocky lid lip sits inside the hopper. So if the lid is an outie, the inside diameter (ID) of the lid, or if its an innie, the ID of the hopper/doser. So get your rulers/vernier calipers out and start measuring  ;). Thanks again, Steve
