After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Point of Sale

Looking to get some input with what (pos) Point of Sale people are using?

Thanks

  • redcat touch screen throws orders onto a touchscreen above the coffee maker and you bump them off as you go - australian owned and bloody brilliant and you lease it over a three yr period after which you own the equipment outright and pay it off month by month fast, reliable and good!
  • Yeah, i can vouch for redcat too.  Depending on what package you get, it can come with great stock control/ordering functions that makes keeping track of how much stock you have (or should have) a breeze!
  • Great, I will look into it... do you know if you use it through the kitchen as well? We are looking at about 30-40 seat cafe for Breakfast and Lunch mainly. thanks
  • Do you know how much and where to get it from?
  • as well as the cafe i work at i also work at a premier 130 seater fine dining restuarant and they use redcat also.  I don't know specifically where to get it from (shouldn't be hard to find via a google search) and a couple of years ago when i enquired i was quoted around $94p/week (2 year contract) for the package i was interested in.  I can't remember what the base package cost but i have $75 p/w in my head (?).
  • Its a bit more expensive than that now I think I pay around $450 per month for two terminals and the display screen above the coffee machine.  And this is with the basic software package - and does not include all the back of house software for stock control etc. The no for redcat is: 03) 99413150 The good thiing about this system is that its entirely customised to your own needs, and because it reduces duplication in the order process we've been able to cut back on one 8hr casual shift per day during our busy period. Also enables the coffee maker / kitchen etc to process orders much faster and more efficiently Give them a call and see what you think Cheers, Pat
  • Thanks guys that some great information! Do you know if you can buy it out right? cheers
