After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Slightly different 'espresso' maker

Just spotted this unusual variation. Kinda like a stove top 'espresso' only different.

Just seems wrong in so many ways. Almost worth buying just to protect someone else from making a terrible mistake.

  • WTF. With so many volatile oils etc in coffee, microwaving is possibly the worst idea ever for extraction. Not to mention that it's pointless - can't you just (almost) boil a kettle???
  • I think you need to look at the other items the seller has for sale to understand where this fits.... ...or doesn't....
  • I actually considered one of these or work many years ago. I don't think it makes authentic espresso however.... more like a big steaming cup of crud.  I will admit to owning many years ago a Mr Espresso Maker by Black and Decker.  The instructions clearly stated that one was not to use milk, So naturally I filled that bad boy up with milk and it went bang.  Needless to say I'm forbidden from owning $8 microwavable espresso pot because what I see as a delightful experiment my wife sees the death of the microwave.  One day I'll tell you ho w I killed our commercial paper shredder.
