After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Sunda Hejo

My broker gave me a small sample of greens from this newly discovered origin about 10 days ago.

Small, boat-shaped bean and quite clean in appearance. Not like a traditional Indo.

As I don't own or use a sample roaster and there was not enough to use as a small batch on the roaster, I had to run it through a mate's sample roaster.

Interesting roast - quite a lot of apparent moisture embedded within the bean needing considerable heat applied in the early stages. Once it got underway, it did roast quite fast and maybe a little too quick.

A week later, cupped through espresso machine and filter.

I've read notes that say the flavor and acid is mild. Tend to agree.

Almost completely lost in milk, better as straight ristretto and even nicer in filter.

Not entirely sure what to do with it yet............could have been the roast or the bean...........not enough of a sample to taste a few times over a few days or develop a firm opinion on whether I like it or not.

Experimental stage and will plan to revisit next crop.
