After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Thanks to AngerManagement + BeanGreen

Hi Mark + Brendan,

Just wanted to give a very public thanks for your kindness. While it's no secret that I'm having a bit of a crummy time at the moment with general life stuff, your timing was impeccable and your generosity unmatched.

Mark - when I knew you only on another forum I once had the perception of you as a mildly sardonic, always-right electrical safety nut. It's been a real pleasure to get to know you better over Twitter and over here. You're a gentleman (and a scholar) with a real care and concern for others*.

Thankyou,

CH.

* having qualified someone else as an electrician (long story**), I understand that "I'm not worried about 220V (or 230-240V)" is a stupid stupid statement most people aren't qualified to make. There are a lot of things that store amps, and it's (usually) the amps that kill you. Thanks for reminding people that they're not as safe as they often assume they are, especially on the bigger commercial machines with 3.5kW elements.

** lets not go there
