After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Drink to me only with thine eyes - a coffee accessory photo thread

We all like photos of cups, glasses and other coffee accessories.

So take some pics and post them here.

I just got some new espresso glasses from the local salvos. Will post up a pic when I get them home.

  • Ok, took this while waiting for a client. Not bad at $5 for a set of four.
  • My Reg Barber tamper, polished the base myself, vast improvement on the machined finish, smooth as a babies bum. ;) dsc7566.jpg By santalum at 2011-12-29
  • Talk about "lapping" it up! What did you polish it with DB??

He He, like the play on word Muscles. Simple process, I used a flat piece of marble as a lapping base, I imagine glass on a solid base would work as well. From memory started with 400 wet and dry, wet, then 600, 800, 1200 and polished on a cloth buff with stainless buffing compound. Despite copping some flack from some of those in the industry I have never regretted the move, nothing sticks to it, very smooth to us, and polishes pucks beautifully. Polished it 3 or 4 years ago and it's still as smooth and shiny as the day it was done. :)
  • Ahhh very cool... Me and power tools don't really get along but I do have some wet and dry (actually Micro-Mesh up to 12000 grit) as well as 1 micron CrOx and 0.5 micron Diamond Spray handy, so I might give the Espro a shoine over the coming days and if all works well it's on to the pullman... Thanks for the inspiration  :thumb:

Gem cutter eh, 12000 might be just a tad fine, if you take it down to 1200 or 2000 removing all scratches then find a local friendly chrome plater, they should be able to give it a quick hit on the buff, only takes a matter of seconds. ;)
  • I WANT one of these. How cool is the design? French of course
  • What the... I don't even... huh?
