After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

And now for something completely different. (humour)

  • Cant believe the thread has been viewed 24 times and not a single reply. I've noticed in the past the humour threads don't seem to fare well on this forum. :stir
  • Ahhh now I get you!! I did see that video a while back. So you would like to see something like this? 129169788477570741.jpg
  • That was really interesting AM. It really does show the power of stereotypes. The more you know the less powerful the stereotype - I wonder how many of those people (should we call them experimental subjects?) did or did not have any contact with biker types. In the early part, where it was being set up, one of the blokes at the front is having a bit of a look around and a chuckle. That made me chuckle too. It would have been funny to be one of the blokes - but a bit sad, too.

  • Two elderly ladies are sitting on the front porch in Bonita Springs , doing nothing. One lady turns and asks, 'Do you still get horny?' The other replies, 'Oh sure I do.' The first old lady asks, 'What do you do about it?' The second old lady replies, 'I suck a lifesaver.' After a few moments, the first old lady asks, 'Who drives you to the beach?'
  • A lesson on how consultants can make a difference in an organization. Very Impressive! Last week, we took some friends to a new restaurant, 'The Place,' and noticed that the waiter who took our order carried a spoon in his shirt pocket. It seemed a little strange. When the busboy brought our water and utensils, I observed that he also had a spoon in his shirt pocket. Then I looked around and saw that all the staff had spoons in their pockets. When the waiter came back to serve our soup I inquired, 'Why the spoon?' 'Well,' he explained, 'the restaurant's owner hired Andersen Consulting to revamp all of our processes. After several months of analysis, they concluded that the spoon was the most frequently dropped utensil. It represents a drop frequency of approximately 3 spoons per table per hour. If our personnel are better prepared, we can reduce the number of trips back to the kitchen and save 15 man-hours per shift.' As luck would have it, I dropped my spoon and he replaced it with his spare. 'I'll get another spoon next time I go to the kitchen instead of making an extra trip to get it right now.' I was impressed. I also noticed that there was a string hanging out of the waiter's fly. Looking around, I saw that all of the waiters had the same string hanging from their flies. So, before he walked off, I asked the waiter,'Excuse me, but can you tell me why you have that string right there?' "Oh, certainly!' Then he lowered his voice.'Not everyone is so observant. That consulting firm I mentioned also learned that we can save time in the restroom. By tying this string to the tip of our pennises, we can pull it out without touching it and eliminate the need to wash our hands, shortening the time spent in the restroom by 76.39%. I asked quietly, 'After you get it out, how do you put it back?' 'Well,' he whispered, 'I don't know about the others, but I use the spoon.'

Though I try not to, even I succumb to prejudice at times. Many years ago I was at the world premier of Mad Max. In the foyer before the movie I noticed some bikers so I shepherded the family away a little. Didin't think anything more about it until the cast took a bow after the movie and I noticed that the huge ugly looking guy from the foyer was "The Toecutter" now on stage accepting applause.
