After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Stress or Old Age

edited January 1970 in Off-topic
Off to the Dr's shortly...

Looks like a massive outbreak of Pompholyx (hand eczema) AND have broken out in a full body rash (lots of little red dot and very sensitive) and if I scratch. Then I come up in massive big raised welts ?

I have never had any allergic reactions previously and other than known chemicals that will burn ie. Acids or other nasties, I have never developed any skin condition (Excluding a thick skin re CS).

NOT HAPPY....  NOT HAPPY at all.

I did think it might have been jelly fish stings after lots were caught in my cast net...  But the rash is in many other places..

Old age, stress or something that I have developed a reaction to..

PS. The Dr's will shake their heads and prescribe some cream... BUT there is always a chance  :thumb:

  • I had something similar in the lead up to my wedding - I wound up with exceedingly red cheeks and some kind of little red lumps. Had never had any kind of acne or skin issue previously. Took about a year to clear up. Then a year or two later when under enormous stress I started getting odd 'breakouts' on my nose. Similar to acne, but not the same. Still get those if I have a lot of stress. Got some now, in fact!
  • AM it's stress, I get it as well when I'm really stressed out. I had to resort to using pineatarsol and soapless liquid soap which helped a lot and I now don't seem to be able to use normal soap any more. I'd be surprised if they said it was anything else.
  • Sorry to hear of your problem AM, not a welcome start too 2012, hope your medical people are able to get it under control.
  • Maybe it's a coffee allergy, AM? Try cutting all coffee from your diet for a few months and see if it goes away.   But in all seriousness, hope you're all better soon. Nothing worth than being itchy and not being able to scratch.
  • Mate... That is nasty!  Look after yourself eh!  Perhaps a liitle more gardening and a little less stress.  Good news is that the new year has demanded R&R!
