After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

The Coffee Club Group, to open new store every fortnight for next five years.

  • Their quality would have to improve across the board.  To guarantee repeat business but that aside it seems a good business model.  My cousin managed one in Brisbane after running one of the family cafes in NQ.  At the training he was told "our food is mediocre, our coffee is bad so our service has to be first class." I'd like to think that attitude was move on fairly quickly but every time I've been to one the coffee has been an opportunity missed.
  • I guess there is a place for all coffee beans, good and bad, just not in my cup  ::) At least they do not take all the good beans and turn them into ash, just the cheap ones. If there was not places like coffee club there wouldn't be speciality coffee places and the patrons at the coffee club ( and others like it) would crowd our favourite places to drink coffee. Good luck to them if they can do it.

  • Never tried them so cant comment. What was the message thing that flashed up a few mins ago KK re my Johnny Dep gif? think AVG killed it.
  • I still see Johnny every time I try to read a post KK
  • This is an overseas new story dressed up with some slick PR to make it look like they are the local world-beaters doing it better than Starbucks. Sure, there is huge growth opportunity in those developing countries for coffee. We are also planning to vertically integrate overseas.

Cant believe its an issue, you wont see him now. :-|
  • who was it who said convenience is king? I've never had a coffee club coffee but I've experienced first hand the rubbish that they serve - all I can say is that they must be well financed and have an effective business model!
