It's a she, should have mentioned that in my OP, as yet unnamed, will bestow naming rights on Heather when she arrives home in a couple of days, H doesn't even know I've bought her, will be quite a surprise. We lost our much loved Kelpie Jess almost 12 months ago (16 years old) its taken this long to pull the trigger on getting another dog, big commitment. Leo looks like a real character, great company aren't they?

Good on ya DB. Its so hard to get another pup after loosing  a long term friend but there as so many A-holes out there that mistreat animals I think of it as a personal responsibility to give a dog a great home and life. KK, one thing I see wrong with that diet is the fact that the dog/cat doesnt have to hunt or the food and therefore weight gain would have to be watched closely. Also certain breeds are prone to pancreatic conditions caused by too much fat in the diet. But there is nothing like a big marrow bone to keep my two occupied for a day

I found the opposite is the case, for both - weight management & pancreatic conditions I am speaking from direct experience as our last dog did have both and others problems This prompted me to look elsewhere as I felt the condition was mainly diet related The current dog has only known the raw meaty bones lifestyle and is very very healthy This diet has kept my dog on 15kg for his whole 3 years of life (ex puppy growing stage) Teeth white as snow and the vet is happy to see me once a year for his shots I was told or read somewhere that when a dogs stool turns white he is on a good healthy diet Regular walks are also key to good health for both dog & human alike KK

Generally he gets Lamb necks , chicken legs and or wings, ox tail ect He also get some of our vegetables from daily cooking and pasta ect in small amounts KK
