I also have a few bits and bobs of stuff with not much left in the bags but i wont list all those , might just chuck all those together and make a witches brew  :-|

Two Beam mix - The Peru is nice on its own but I would also try it with 25% Monsooned Malabar 50% - sumatran gayo sp/org with 50% - Ethiopian ghimbi Three bean mix Ethiopian Yerg 33% Sumatra          33% santa dom cibao altura aa 33% Four bean mix png robusta                @ 10% sumatran gayo sp/org @40% las/pav                      @ 30% monsoon mal              @ 20% KK
  • thanks KK i will pick one or two of those ideas and maybe do a roast today , we are getting very low on roasted i think the last of my roasts is in the grinder now ( my wife drinks it and a few customers over the bought roasted that we have in the other grinder) i drink the bought roast that i buy from chris ( bezzera ) i think because it has a little more kick in it than my roasts . my current roasts contain a fair bit of peru de selva which i think makes for a fairly tame coffee . but after reading your post again i just might try the de selva and mm combo cos i do like mm. johno

Hi Johno, Cool .. i use to roast that blend  ;) .. Vibe ( a silver medal golden bean blend ) .. it was the darkest roast I use to do .. until i learnt to roast to 3rd Crack .
  • I'll second kk's suggestion of peru/mm Or 90/10 peru/robusta
  • ok ta for that . peru and png sounds like a good idea . only problem with the mm blend is i would have to do the mm roast a week before the other so i think i might do a peru and png this arvo , might just bung em in together the same way i do the kjm. johno
  • I tend to like two bean roasts if I have one bean I like, but that I feel needs a bit of a kick up the a**e to give it some oomph. Hence the thought of robusta, but the Peru/PNG is well worth a try. I generally roast blends together, only doing otherwise as a one off grinder blend when there are some beans already in the throat of the grinder. Have roasted MM along with other beans and had problems though with differing bean sizes and crack happening at different times - not to mention the ageing properties. My blending experience is strictly limited, so don't assume I know what I'm talking about.  Others here have Waay more experience than I.
  • made up a ripper of a blend today" El Salvador Adia Battle Selection mixed with Mexico San Cristobal pulped natural!

Sounds like an interesting blend. Roasted these two seperately yesterday, I note from other posts the MM needs to sit a little longer. Looking forward to trying this blend.

This has turned out to be an excellent blend for Espresso and Short Machiatto. Great crema, good body and mouthfeel. Really enjoying this.

Simply you are looking at these Steve.......: http://www.beangreen.com.au/product-info.php?pid114.html http://www.beangreen.com.au/product-info.php?pid94.html And with Brendan, if you spend $50 or more I reckon he throws in free freight ;)
  • There are a couple of nice PNG's on BeanGreen too, which are similar in flavour to other Indo's, next week should see the Sumatran Wahana Natural added to the selection which should be an very interesting bean.
  • Has anyone tried any of these coffees, or knows what they blend well with?  Zambian Terranova A/X,  Mexican Pluma Organic, Ethiopian Djimmah Gr 5 Natural, the Guatemala Acate and the Indonesian Sunda Hejo.
  • Hi Steve!  Yep, I've tried em all now and they are all great.  They blend well but they all have different flavours nod highlights naturally.  My advice to new roasters/blenders is to grab 2kg of each (free shipping) and roast individually then post blend.  Google cupping (coffee or you'll get an eyeful and then an earful from the missus) and do that too.  $80 is darn cheap for an education and 7 kg of roasted coffee.
