so I picked this up from the market - it appears to be in top notch condition and clean as a whistle inside and out - havent put it through its paces yet but I look forward to doing so!

Lovely pick-up. Young barista from Merlos reckons his Atomic makes he best coffee he's ever tasted.  He may be due for some re-training presently if he says it to the wrong people!!  Enjoy your gift!

Was keen on firing it up today but after consuming two double espressos and a cold filter at home I figured I might've been in for a bit of grief from she who must be obeyed if I enhanced my caffeine levels any further - still I did manage to mow the lawns, trim the hedge the length of the property, and pull out a wheelbarrow full of weeds - so all that caffeine did not go astray ! Only potential problem I can see with the Atomic is no auto shut off if it runs out of water (!) and the group handle forms a firm but not tight seal when inserted all the way (might be a different story once the coffee is added) Still, I've got some Columbia La Union Excelso beans from the cafe, and a kilo of Ethiopia Guji berries  (Thanks to Andrew Lew at The Mailing Room in Canterbury for that one!) to play with - and I'm sure both will be perfectly suited to a stove top application !

I have a feeling that they drink decaf and lots of tea. The atomics are just collectors item in the back of the cupboard, in which case, she may not notice 1 missing
