My Bean Green order just turned up in record time as usual. Opened the carton to find this monster 2 kg bag of MM. Standard 500 gm bag next to it  :D

derrilex my order also arrived today containing 1kg of MM BUT the bag is the same size as the 2kg bag  ??? These are very large and light beans and there is no nasty smelly sock smell about them, it's actually really pleasant. Now I'm wondering if we need to treat these beans differently when we roast them compared to 'normal' beans being that they are so large and light?

Apparently, they like to be roasted s l o o o  w w w  - whatever that means. I burp a few times ( the roaster) before first crack to blow the time out a bit then try and get the time to 2nd C out as far as I can without stalling, Right or wrong it works for me. The last MM I did was awesome as a SO

I have two bags of 5kg each of Honduras COE. They were the paper ones though, and probably would have held 2.5kg brown beans easily.

what kind of machine is that in the back? is it the MM beans that taste real buttery?

That's a Bezzera BZ99. A very capable commercial-level machine at a near-consumer price point. They last absolutely forever ( I borrowed one for a while that was 15 years old. Apart from the noise, it performed admirably) and make a very very good brew. They tend to pop up on eBay semi-regularly too - usually wind up going for between $500 - $700.
