After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

OPPORTUNITY IN ROASTING & WAREHOUSING OPERATIONS

We are looking for an energetic enthusiastic person with a passion for coffee to join our dynamic team, based in our Roasterie in Fyshwick, A.C.T.

As in any small / medium sized coffee roasting business, the role will require the wearing of "many hats" with a mix of roles, ultimately including for the right person, the learning of roasting operations. This will include all aspects of packaging, warehousing and of course, cleaning. Coffee Roasting and its related operations is a dusty job, and of course the Roasting Section and associated Cupping Lab dont stay clean and well presented all by themselves...!

The right person will be dynamic and want to learn and improve, have a responsible and flexible attitude, a desire to do the job well, and will take pride. He or she will be expected to contribute positively to our team.

Our Roasterie continues to grow. We use latest technology european roasting equipment, and have a well established small / medium business model with opportunities for internal advancement.

Internally, we have separate sections including:
Roasting operations, warehousing and deliveries
Equipment importation and sales of Home, Office, Cafe and Hotel equipment
Workshop
Training School, and
In House Cafe.

Most of the team now working in sales, training or apprentice roasting positions, started at the bottom and were promoted from within, making room for others to join such as with the position now being offered.

This position has not yet been advertised outside selected special interest groups such as Crema, so as to give those that have a keen interest in coffee, the first opportunity.

If you feel this this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for, please send your

Application to:

  • Guys and Dolls... The problem with having a "full" employment rate in some areas of this country..... The above is a GOLDEN opportunity for someone who wants to start on a coffee journey that will take you inside real coffee industry and for the right person, to work up to joining me in production (roasting etc). If you have a serious interest in coffee and want to learn and develop your skills over time (both personal as well as serious professional development in coffee), this could be for you and may only be a phone call away if you can manage to seek out our telephone number and make the call....... ;)
  • Would I have to go back to living in Canberra ? cause thats a deal breaker  :D :D Seriously though, golden opportunity for someone. If I was still living in Canberra I'd seriously consider it.
