Coffee statistics

Have recieved some statistics on coffee consumption patterns in NZ:

• five out of 10 people drink fresh (espresso) coffee at least once a month.
• 33% buy coffee from a cafe at least once a week.
• Instant coffee accounts for 26% of all drinks consumed - hot or cold
• Fresh coffee accounts for 6% of all drinks consumed.

Wondered if anyone knows of any similar statistics for Australia?

Hi Admin I don't have anything that recent or that specific, but here it is... 2001 - 2002 Percentage of Fast Food/Takeaway consumed...31% carbonated drinks, 22% coffee (not including cappuccino), 22% cappuccino. Coffee and cappuccino rated higher than milk, bottled water and fruit juices. 2002 - Australia purchased 370 million cappuccino, followed by caffe latte (227m), flat white, long black (135m), and only 70 million espresso. I hope the number of espresso I consume daily will help short black's numbers for 2003-4! KN
