After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
I'm about to do an order from Brendan and after my Finca Liquidambar surprise I wanted to see if there was anything standout in the current super-cheapies list:
I've been exceptionally happy with their product quality and service.
I used to buy my beans from commercial non-sponsor, but changed my purchasing some time ago. My experience was: beangreen ships quicker (although this was balanced by the longer travel time to get to Melbourne, so time to get to my door was comparable). Product range and quality is excellent. Some of the beangreen specials really are (special that is) :thumb: For those choosing a supplier on economic factors alone though, the free shipping from beangreen will be the clincher. Ability to order by the kilogram is good when trying new beans or for small batch blends. I realise other bean suppliers also exist and may be worth a try, but I have been extremely happy with beangreen.
I'm looking forward to experiencing that myself first hand and roasting me some beans!
Well done Pat, seriously Brendan offers a great range and I landed another 5kg land on my door step yesterday. As stated by others , I love the ability to purchase in 1kg lots (last order was a 4kg sample and 1kg sample) and the free postage he offers is just the icing on the cake so to speak. Great to see members supporting a sponsor

+1 I have had a few bean deliveries from Ministry of Grounds and each batch exceeded my expectation!

I know I'm in the green bean section but any recommendations for GB's roasted coffee as I don't home roast (hanging head in shame)? Preferably a blend that does good as both an espresso and a latte Thanks Seeya
Seeya, Beangreen only do 1 seasonal roasted been by the look of their website. I only buy green to be honest. Personally if I was look for more choice I would check out our other sponsors. A few of them have roasted for sale on their website, and a lot of variety, if that's what your after.

I believe I mentioned on chat the other day - for roasted, I recommend mycuppa, lots of choice and good descriptions. A company I am happy to do business with, unlike some I have used in the past. I have no experience with Ministry Grounds so don't take that as a criticism of their offerings.
Yep I've had suuweet recently from mycuppa (the next from Jeff will be the Espresso I think) and the only dealings I've had with Ministry is I bought a VST basket from him roughly about the time when everyone was excited about them last year The good news is that both Neil and Jeff were equally pleasant to deal with. My base is Genovese but I always have another roaster's on hand that im sampling in parallel
I had some of mycuppas Indian surprise recently. Good as espresso. Oh yes, the berry apocalypse was excellent too and worked well in aeropress. I have a few kg of Brazil Ipanema Dulce which I got as a green and mycuppa roast/sell as an SO. I am not a huge fan of the full Brazilians (prefer in a blend), but am currently enjoying this one. Too much choice really.
