I did the pre-infusion ok at about 2-3 bar untill it started to drip

then ramped up a little too quickly to about 8 bar

then I dropped the pressure too much and almost stopped it to dripping then tickled it back up to around 4 bar until the end

despite all the mistakes the shot still tasted good.

also she got the camera too close and picked up too much noise

anyway you get the idea

The most important being "despite all the mistakes the shot still tasted good." I would argue that there are no mistakes... Just general expectation vs personal taste. Keep up the research mate.  :thumb:

That's a seriously tweaked machine CMan.  You should try ramping up the pressure after prefusion, then slowly decreasing it as the shot pours.  Great fun, keep us up to date as you play with it.

That is just what I was trying to do, I just muffed it a bit. The funny thing is the coffee is really good!, with soft beans anyway.  I haven't figured out what to do with the harder beans yet.
