Commercial Coffee Roasters - The RMS5, HSR5 and IR5

Good evening all.
Some facts....
Coffee roasters australia sell the Has Garanti.  These roasters are imported from Turkey. 
I have been told coffee roasters from Turkey do not conform to Australian safety regulations.
Coffee roasters australia claim they design and install the heating, valve train and electrical
circuit for these roasters.  Capacity is 200 grams to 5kg.  Heating source - NAT GAS / LPG.  Burner type -
Direct / hot air.  15 Amp single phase.  $17,500 including GST.  The HSR10 hot air, GAS LPG / NAT
is priced at $21,500 including GST.

Roastmax super shop roasters, the RMS5, imported from Turkey.  Will says these roasters are modified
here in Australia to conform to Australian safety standards.  He claims all Roastmax roasters have a gastrain and safety devices fitted in Australia to Australian standards. 
He claims Roastmax roasters have burners that are matched to the roasters capacity, so that the air
flowing through the drum rises at approximately the same rate as the drum.  Priced at $16,300 plus
GST. 

Appliance Maintenance Centre sell the american made Deidrich coffee roaster, the IR5.  This is priced
at $23,000 plus GST, and comes with infra red burners. 

Question; Which roaster do you feel is the best value for money?
The Deidrich is the most expensive, but is it really necessary to pay thousands of
dollars more to have an infra red burner? 
And what do people think about using a profiler?  Are they worth the investment?

It's like comparing apples with oranges -  a mate of mine has a HG and he's making some very fine coffee indeed and has received numerous industry accolades for his coffee To my mind you are asking the wrong people If you've got that much cash to splash around on a new roaster then you should be speaking to the importers / coffee roasters who use this equipment direct Also, with all due respect, you need to know the answers to these questions yourself based upon first hand personal experience with the equipment before deciding to outlay a significant amount of capital on a new roaster And why do you ask? Is it because you're intending to set up shop, or because you're just curious ? To my mind it would also come down to what size capacity roaster you're after,  and for what intended market ? Perhaps you could start by telling us a little about yourself such as where you're located and what you'd be using the roaster for? As a shop fitting for a cafe? Or behind the scenes roasting for retail? And what is your current level of roasting experience? Best ACg

I think you're right. I am asking for advice, meaning a second opinion, but i know what i am going to do regardless. Thanks anyway.

Hello Steve. Cant supply answers to the questions because the price really is immaterial (atleast at first). First you need to sort out which of the three you think is going to work best for you, and if you think the most expensive one is it, then you have to be prepared to pay that price irrespective of the fact that others cost less. So yes agreeing with Pat in a sense, cant compare them price wise because it would be like comparing apples to oranges. Trust me....I've done it. You work out what you need for yourself, then you pay the ransom (or not). Profiling software is an extremely good (I think) idea BUT.....you have to decide whether you think the cost of that addition is cost effective for roasting plants of such small size. But dont expect that profiling software to give you "default" profiles to work with. It doesnt....it just enables the roaster operator to set a profile that the machine will faithfully duplicate.  So if you programme a totally dumb profile, the machine will faithfully duplicate it ! Hope that helps.
