Thanks for posting this up. So how does it work exactly?  Do you take the lid off and put the beans in replace the lid and then turn it on?  How effective has it been in finding stones and bits and bobs that your grinder won't like? I'm upgrading my roasting station this year with a better cooling system, and I might just add this to the mix.  I've been lucking so far by not having any stones get into my grinder (not that I know of anyway) but it's always at the back of my mind when I'm roasting.

Thanks for posting this up. So how does it work exactly?

You suck the beans up the long tube on the side into the bucket. You adjust the suction so that anything heavier than roasted beans remain in the container you suck the bean from. The beans end up in the bucket. Once you have emptied the bean container, remove the lid of the bucker to pour the beans (hopefully now sans any dodgy stuff) from the bucket into a clean container. So each batch will require some adjustment. I generally only use it if providing to others or a little suss about a beans origins. Graham

That's awesome. I want to see some rube-golderbergian homebrew setup with pipes everywhere that uses vacuum assisted bean removal from a KKTO roasting chamber, through to this destoner along with some auto-bagging machine reminiscent of something 'Doc' Brown would cook up.
