when is 'hot' too hot for coffee?

edited January 1970 in Have your say
42C today in Melbourne - a real scorcher!

I had two double espresso based lattes at home this morning - still, that's pretty tame by my standards - but couldnt bring myself to drink any more in this baking heat!

true dat Im mostly a morning guy anyway and it doesnt really get super hot in melbourne till mid afternoon...
  • If you think its too hot to drink a latte ... ...just skip steaming the milk, and add it straight from the fridge ! ..PS .. i have seen Spanish  ( truck drivers !!)  take their morning espresso with ice..and Brandy !  ??? :o

+1 The ambient temperature has never had a bearing on my coffee intake...

  • I hate the heat. As soon as it's over 30 degrees, pull a double shot in some milk, some cocoa, vanilla, sugar, and ice, and blend into a frappe.
  • I grew up in North Queensland and on a really hot day a great lunch was a toasted sandwich and a steaming hot cup of Nescaf

The as you sweltered into the vinyl couch you put this hot food in your hot body imagining you were sitting in the snow. Didn't bloody work!
I'm not surprised. You should have completed the illusion by putting on a ski jacket, ugg boots and beanie
  • ..and just in case the cup is too hot,..you had better wear a pair of nice thick gloves ! :thumb:
  • im also quite partial to a half flat white made with cold or only slightly warmed milk on hot days: same amount of coffee, half the amount of milk, and then gulp it down!
