After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Cheap Cunill grinders ?

edited January 1970 in Grinders
What is with the sudden rash of cheap ( as low as $150 ) new Cunill "El Tranquillo"  doserless grinders that have recently appeared on Ebay & Gumtree ?
I dont need one, but at $150 for a 60mm burr , timed, doserless, "brand",  grinder must be some kind of an opportunity for  entry level users wanting to step up from a Sunbeam etc.
Anybody contribute from personal use experience , ?..im sure  its not in the Mazzer league , but comments ??

  • Too many different people have them and not all are in the coffee trade etc even a bedding supplier... Too cheep to be believed without some detailed evidence.. OR a new model out and these have been sold at an Auction and now been off loaded..

?? what do you mean ? .. do you suspect they are defective or "seconds" ? These are well proven  models form a repected brand, and all brand new in box's . But yes, i agree..at some point there probably been a wholesale  clearance/auction  with several resellers now disposing of these through Ebay etc. But still bargains if you are looking for a decent mid range grinder. ! :thumb:
  • That is an extraordinary bargain.  No excuse for not owning a quality grinder for espresso there.  They'll also outlive their owners in a domestic setting I'd imagine.  I'm not a fan if them but they are already great value for money sub $400.  Good find mate!
