It looks like the bargain of the decade!
The reason I bought it is because it does multiple brewing methods.  Seems to me to be a well thought out bit of kit. :)  For the kickstarter early adopters it was a steal!  8)

very cool mate. Please post some thoughts once you have made a few cuppas.
  • Will do.  I had one go with the cold brew method and it turned out ok, but I have some decent beans now just for this process.  This weekend should be fun! [emoji6][emoji106]
  • Keep us posted mate!
  • I set it up last night.  Did the full quota.  70gm coffee, 700ml water which is the 1/10 ratio in the manual.  Never done cold drip before!  I set the drip to once every 5secs as per manual.  Easy to do, but the coffee expanded right up to the nozzle so it was hard to check later if this was still the same.  Woke up this am to find it about halfway though the water.  Over 12 hours later. [emoji17]. Defiantly not fast enough.  Grrrr. Anyone got any experience with cold drip and can point me in the right direction?  I assume that if the brew period is too long then it's not going to be right.
  • The dripping mechanism in my home brew brewer needs monitoring because as the water level changes so does the frequency of the drips.  I've always found it fiddly but fun and excellent coffee when the stars align.  I did 50g/500ml in 10 hours.  I haven't used mine in ages but as we're home for Cristmas it seems like a good option.  Good luck!

i was going to say something similar Brett. You need to monitor it as the flow rate changes based on the volume of water in the top chamber. To maintain the x drips per minute you need to recalibrate every so often. Leaving the calibration as set up initially and not changing it throughout the brew process will result in the drop rate slowing over time.
  • I think the Brewover team suggested 70gm in 700ml water, but the coffee expands to the top of the container and is right up against the tap outlet.  You therefore can't see it drip. :(  I think I'll stick to 500-600ml and see how that goes.  Lovely brew though, even my wife liked it! I had to pack it up because we have just had out house photographed for advertisement, but i'll get it back out this weekend.  :coffee2:
  • Grind a bit finer and level with a very light tamp , I found that worked with mine but still came very close to touching the valve, I set my drip to 1 drip every two seconds to speed things up a bit.
  • I'm off and brewing with the Brewover thanks to our dear friend and forum member BC Spark!  I've chosen 60g of the finest Yirg I have currently that's been roasted to just prior to second crack. The device looks great and I reckon we'll be sampling the Cold Brew by morning tea tomorrow. BC, it was great to meet you today and I wish I could have stayed longer.  I can talk the leg off a chair as you can see and I was chuffed to see your amazing setup.  Your quality and dignity sir are a credit to you and I'm all the better for our meeting! I'll keep you all posted!
  • Oh... And for those of you who like a picture....
  • Thank you Brett for your kind words. The meeting was equally special to me after many forum discussions. Thank you also for the gift of roasted beans,Australian I believe and adding they were ground and used this morning. It would have been a blend with a small amount of Panama but a tripple espresso from the Witch was very palatable.More info tomorrow.
  • Brett, the gifted coffee is brilliant.Could you please give name and source as my espressos are as good as any bean I have roasted.  bcspark
  • What a pleasure!  They are called Ashtonscoffee and if you google them you'll see their beans for sale.  Wet and dry processed I've found them both very good.  The Brewover brew was an awesome success.... Thank you!!
  • Very interesting project, it seems that the kickstarter link you sent is not working can you please check why.
  • That's because it's finished mate.  Let me try and find the newest link!  Hope the Aussie weather is treating you well for your stay!
  • I'm very happy with mine.  Just ordered more papers for cold drip from Brendan @ BeanGreen with my latest green coffee order. :)  You can also order the brew over from him too.  www.beangreen.com.au
