After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Coconut Coffee (Anyone?)

edited January 1970 in Have your say
Yesterday I decided to make my morning FW and spotted some leftover coconut milk in the fridge.  :lamp:

Having not yet tried butter coffee (and I intend to), I thought maybe it's a good time to go tropical.

There wasn't enough coconut milk on its own so went half and half with full cream.

Of course it didn't stretch that well but after the initial palate shock, it went (and stayed) down pretty well.  ^-^

Has anyone else tried this?

I'd class it as a preferred and developed taste and I'll be trying it again, so are there any (constructive)  thoughts on coconut coffee on here?

  • Sounds good Kevo!  I'm now thinking an Afogatto with Coconut ice cream for the lady who approves (or otherwise) purchasing.
  • Strangely I can't take milk, but I can take cream, so when I need a white coffee, I tend to do a cream / coconut milk or cream / almond milk mixture. The almond milk one stretches and tastes better, but they are both (just about) drinkable when you need a milky coffee fix.
  • Not the same thing at all, but i make a drink with an espresso pulled directly on to ice and then combined with coconut water for a perfect tropical energy drink - i got the idea from the web, someone in the US is marketing an espresso and coconut water energy drink.
  • That sounds just perfect for this tropical NT weather we're having here at the moment. I had real coconut water when in India a couple of years ago, but I guess as it's on special at Aldi's......... I'll give theirs a run.
