After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.
Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.
Hi Chaps (M&F) and thanks.
I am a medical scientist in the field of Histology. I qualified in London in the late 70's and emigrated shortly after.
My interests are rather numerous and include Motor cycles, 4-wheel driving, history, photography, mythology, junk science, cooking, pipe smoking, music (except rap) movies, literature, Shakespeare and his contemporaries, martial arts (of which I am a retired instructor) and black powder shooting and reloading. I live in East Malvern in the suburbs of Melbourne with my partner Julie, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 Harleys, hundreds of books and other junk.
I still work full time and can be caught lecturing occasionally on histology, medical photography, Pathology history and Civil War medicine. I like tinkering with things and hate gardening. I have an un-abbreviated dislike of instant coffee and those who have fostered its dissemination. I am not evil except as contagious custom hath made me. I will buy dinner for the person who knows who said that- and its not the Bible, Nietzsche or Montaigne.
I am relatively new to fine coffee due to a 5 year affair with a kidney machine which forced me to drink short shots and now I can't stop.
Enough self indulgence.
I have a Excobar Minore IV and a Mazzer Mini E. Which I have house trained without adhesive, tape to sweep clean and drop vertically.
