Which Australian city is the coffee capital?

Not sure the article or poorly constructed survey mean much, other than at the moment a lot of Aussies are drinking coffee.

I often wonder if the hipsters who do the cafe hopping saved the money instead we would see a lot more younger people able to afford to purchase the house they claim is so unaffordable nowadays! :-|

Slow news week mate. So they bring on another useless senseless artikill about coffee. People that have coffee machines at their disposal at home or in the office, will still go out for coffee....because there will be business meetings, social gatherings etc OR...when they are buying their lunch or some morning "tea" they will buy a cuppa to go with that. And if Melbourne has been found to be (by virtue of this survey)  the coffee capital of oz, what does it mean besides absolutely nothing? By the way lest someone get the wrong idea this is not a "negative" response....simply a touch of realism. Life goes on  ...and with regard to your very worthy closing comment. Has anyone compared the cost of buying a loaf of bread, some ham and cheese to make lunch with, and the correspondong cost of buying something (including a cuppa)?  On a daily basis, 5 days a week and 52 weeks a year? Wouldnt be good for the cafe industry but some of those kids could effect substantial savings to be put towards other "priorities".
