Recharging the water softener in the machines tank

Hi all Time for another question  ;D.

How do you recharge the tank water softener and how often?

Great question.  I dissolve some rock salt in warm water and sit the cartridge in that for about an hour.  I occasionally siphon fresh salty water through it from the reservoir in which it is sitting (when walking past etc.). I then rinse it thoroughly by siphoning freshwater through it so the salt to taste is gone.  I do this every three months.

Should be in the manual but 3-6 months I think.  Had one is my Miss Lucy and I did that.
