After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Caffeine Confessional- Confess your caffeine related sins here.

  • Clearly I am quite the sinner here so I may as well confess something else......I add sweetener to my coffee and I am putting this down to my not being able to pick out certain notes so as of now I am going to stop adding sweetener in the hope that it will make a difference.
  • Pfft... That's not really a sin.  How's this for a sin: I made a long black on decaf, added a shot and a bit of cognac then topped it with whipped cream.  If I go to hell I'll certainly feel no pain!
  • That sounds sooooooo good err bad Brett  >:D.
  • Not sure if this sinful - maybe just a little deviant.  Added some peach infused mineral water to espresso the other day.  Not sure what prompted me.  It was ... actually quite drinkable.  Doubt I'll make a habit of it though
  • We have to try these things kbilleter. Maybe in a cold brew it might be ok.
  • I had an espresso with sugar today. I need the calories as I was told I lost weight the last two weeks. Never again. Suweet ended up being too sweet with a little sugar.
  • Do you have a health condition mate?  I suffered severe weight loss a few years ago and was told by a hospital nutritionist to have cheese with every meal.  Fixed that problem and then some

the condition is called lack of sleep and not eating enough. KFC zinger fixed that tonight. [emoji38] When you say severe weight loss how much did you lose?

Heathy fit 94kg down yo 78kg before hospitalisation at 76kg.  I was undiagnosed Addisons disease and it almost took me.  I'm now back at 90kg but nowhere near fit.... working on it gently currently working on fixing my sore back with Physio and stretches.  baby steps.... ;)

sorry to hear that mate but glad to hear you put the weight back on and working on your back... I'm guessing you're on cortisol tablets of some sort?
  • Yep... Fludro and Hydro cortisone daily. It's a far easier lot than folk with Diabetes so I'm not complaining.  Frankly, I'm just happy for the second chance ;). Life is too short for bad coffee sinners... Repent and confess yo... oh, back on topic.... Soooooooooo I harvested a hundred gams of greens from the tree in the side yard, plumped em, dried em, beat the husk off them in the food processor, loaded them in the Behmor, started em, forget em, burned em, SINNER!
  • Made an instant coffee this morning..... Didn't want to turn the grinder on after putting the little to sleep after her feed. Sheesh..... :)
  • Sounds like you need a HG One mate

That will never happen in this household, cos we don't stock it! Then again, we also don't "stock" little ones here either.  ::) I wouldn't categorise this (reverting to IC) as a "sin" though mate. More like desperation.  ;) Your penance....... a triple ristretto Macchiato - every day this week.  :coffee2: :coffee2: :coffee2: (Fitted in with bub's sleeping patterns of course)

noted Kevo I've began to redeem myself. I just pulled a triple (managed to fit 21g in my double synesso basket). The machine was choking but after dripping for a while t tarted flowing nicely. [emoji477]️
  • It's good to see redemption is underway  ;D.
  • Forgive me fellow coffee forum members for I have sinned. It has been quite a while since my last confession. Today I allowed my son to con me into adding some flavoured syrup to my afternoon cuppa, not just any syrup but Aldi Expressi branded syrup  ???. Admitting it is repentance enough .
  • One imagines CB that drinking the stuff is the equivalent of 49 million Hail-Mary's!
  • Throw in some self flagellation for good measure you think  >:D!
  • Well....I just returned from a 4 day stint away from home, and on the one day there was no real coffee available, I had a black instant coffee  to stave off the caffeine withdrawal blues..... The choice was simple. Go without and suffer the hangover type symptoms in the afternoon, or feed it with instant. Its a no brainer ;)
  • Hmm.... I'm a little disappointed that you didn't carry several hand grinders and extraction devices from AeroPresses through to Atomics... and then forget to take beans (happened to an operatic colleague on a brief tour).  Almost as cruel as my laughing at him.
  • John Davanni and his mates Leopold Oh and Jon Basil.

    Tea? Coke :P?
  • I sometimes run a triple shot into two cups when im busy then marry them - but of cause you still need to be exact with your measurements, and sometimes there's a little coffee left over in the espresso cup, and invariably I drink that tasty little riz, cause I cant bear the thought of good coffee going to waste...
