Repairs to Rancilio Silvia in Sydney

Can anyone tell me where I could get my Rancilio Silvia repaired in Sydney (preferably on the North side)

The thermostat stopped working and the water was running far too hot, then the boiler refused to heat up at all. I think it is probably just the thermostat, but I'd rather take it to a proper machine doctor.

You do realise that you could simply take care of the t-stat yourself, right?  If it is the safety thermostat, it's just a matter of taking the top off and gently pushing the red bit of plastic back in.  (Obviously, you'll take all of the usual precautions; unplug the machine and make sure that it's cool, etc...)

Thanks Luca, I got the same advice from another source. I did pop the top and have a look, but the t-stat with its little red button was well hidden under a wire connector. Now I know where it is and what to do, I'll be fine if this ever happens again. All fixed, all happy, lovely double shot macchiato this morning  ;D Thanks for the replies.

Aidan Overall, how do you find the Silvia? Apart from above, any other problems? John

A service provider will do more than simply reset the safety thermostat...this is because he will be looking to see WHY the thermostat was tripped in the first instance. Sometimes it really is just an "act of god" that wont be repeated and other times, the thermo itself might be faulty or some other legitimate failure caused the safety thermo to trip. Beware! FC.

hello there coffee heads im a newbie on this forum,driven here by the need for some expertise;i have a silvia that i bought in the netherlands about 9 years ago;she has had heavy use until a couple of years back;she went BANG and examination revealed a blackened area caused by an arc from the [corroded]heater terminal on top of the boiler to the boiler itself; ; .im located in the northern rivers now and am looking to repair her .any suggestions would be appreciated muchly.
