After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Here we are in New South Wales, shearing sheep as big as whales.

Well not quite, we are in NSW, I lied about the sheep, The Clancy Brothers have more to say about sheep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TEACjM8RNs

Arrived in Soldiers Point yesterday after an easy four day drive via Broken Hill, Cobar, Dubbo and camped the last night at Jerry's Plains in the Upper Hunter region.

Took a detour down to Parkes and had a look at the CSIRO radio telescope, very impressive, have driven past many times, always in a hurry, this time made the effort, glad we did.

Uneventful trip, weather over this way very pleasant, here for a week then we get to retrace our steps, perhaps via the Newell Highway through Tocumwal to visit an old mate of mine.

Life is good. :)

  • Ho did I miss this thread?  My favourite folk tune and all.  That version is fabulously rustic and Celtic but I prefer the piece taken a quite a clip. At last doppio tempo ;)

Morning Brett, Had to Google doppio tempo, think I know what you mean, can you provide a link to an example? :)
  • I'm lost. What's a doppio tempo. Sounds like a drink.
  • Lol... Thought all you coffee aficionados would have guessed that instantly. Double speed/time ;)

if I had my doppio this arvo I would be all right but I missed it [emoji26]
  • Trying to imagine the Clancy Bros number played in double time Brett, it moves along pretty well as is :-|
  • Nah mate, that one and Lachlan Tigers are two that I enjoy at a smashing tempo.  The energy of the harmonies compounds proportionate to the tempi!

Will have to bow to superior knowledge Brett, I'm way out of my depth. :)
