After the old forum software breaking in a way that we were unable to fix, we've migrated the site to a new platform.

Some elements aren't working as we'd hoped - some avatars didn't survive the transition, and we're still having issues with attachments that weren't added as inline images, but we're hoping to have that all sorted out soon.

Buddy Franklin and the media.

In this day and age of political and social correctness we are constantly told that mental health issues do not carry the stigma that they did in the past!

So, the Fairfax media chose to run with this emotive laden piece of drivel this afternoon.

[size=18pt]Sydney Swans forward Lance 'Buddy' Franklin 'treated for an ongoing mental health condition'

This type of reporting is something we would have expected from The Melbourne Truth in the 1960's.

Once the media have tagged a person it's a difficult thing to shake off.

No, I'm not a Swans supporter.

  • I'm not a supporter of Fairfax media. Their "journalists" rehash stories from other sites and peddle drivel. People who read and believe their trash also suffer from ongoing mental health conditions.... I believe the term is brain dead. It is very difficult to find well written media articles today.
  • I believe the guy had a petit mal seizure.  That is all.  These media types will write anything to sell copy.  When did journalism become click-bait as standard???
