  • they look like a pretty smart machine to me but if you're having a look at the expobar check out the prosumer dual-boiler machine for home use, it was developed in conjunction with the US based coffee outfit, Whole Lotta Latte (gotta love that name!), and its a very tidy little unit!
  • They are not a bad little machine, but I personally think the finish quality iss a little low. A good alternative is this www.myitalia.com.au or the giotto

The expobar brewtus II is really high tech, I wonder what price is it.
  • you can generally pick it up between $2000 and $2500 depending

yes, the expo leva doesnt have as good a finish, but it doesnt have plastic panels and a light weight frame that twists when you put the pf in. and you dont need to clamp it to the bench if making a number of milk based drinks the expobar has better steam capacity, the italia instructions says max 600ml milk jug graham
  • um whilst that sounds good in theory I am yet to find a set of instructions that came with a coffee machine to be either completely factual or particularly helpful - often at the end of the days it's a matter of hit and miss until you discover what works with your machine I had a play on the new Brewtus II the other day - and it's dedicated boiler for milk production would put most other machines in this category to shame!

these are the instructions supplied with the machine by diamond Services out of the box i found this pretty accurate it struggled with a 1 litre jug 1/4 full.
  • i stand corrected sounds like pretty good customer service if you ask me!

Hi Graham, I guess what I was trying to say is that there are many good machines in this catagory. While I am not going to argue the pros and cons of each machine I will defend the Italia. Yes it has plastic sides, this does not effect its working and brings the price down considerably. As for twisting and clamping it to the bench thats a bit of an exaggeration don't you think. I can comfortably texture milk in a 600ml jug, why would you need to use bigger at home? how much milk are you using for your 2 espresso shots?
